We live in an increasingly frenetic society, where knowing how to organize and manage one’s time has become a necessity. Phenomena such as smart working are now consolidated realities and work is increasingly digitized, but it is not always possible to combine all one’s commitments, such as participating in meetings or managing emails, with the consequence that productivity could be affected. It is therefore necessary to equip oneself with the most appropriate tools through which to optimize the work activity and Trello is one of these. Project Management software that structures work in shared bulletin boards.
Trello is a very easy-to-use tool that allows you to keep track of every single element and divides the workspace into boards, which in turn contain lists, which are made up of cards . We can imagine it as a sort of blackboard where you can create task lists and organize them to your liking.
Trello is accessible from any browser and a mobile application is also available (iOS and Android) which allows you to access your documents and work on your project from anywhere and at any time.
As mentioned, there are three fundamental elements of this software: p>
Let’s see them in detail.
Board boards can be of two types: private, accessible only to account owners who are free to manage individual activities; public, visible to all team members so as to be able to coordinate activities.
Furthermore, it is possible to create different workgroups to which specific notice boards can be dedicated, in so that each member has access only to the activities of his own group, but not to those in which he is not involved.
Inside the bulletin boards we find the lists, i.e. thethematic columns that group the tabs by topic; in fact, it may be useful to segment the various activities into reference macro-areas.
These are divided into 3 sections: “To do” (to do), “Doing” (running) and “Done” (done).
Each list can be moved by drag and drop both within from the same board or on a different board.
Cards are nothing more than the individual information units of the software that contain the various tasks and within which all the activity takes place. In addition to the description, users, attach files and an expiration date can be added to each individual tab.
Among the various features of the tabs, you can insert checklists where a completion bar progresses each time an item is completed. Furthermore, these can be moved from one list to another with a simple drag and drop as the project progresses.
The area called “Card Back” is made up of 4 sections:
Another very interesting aspect of Trello are the labels, through which it is possible to assign different levels of priority to the various cards. By assigning a label, we will have an overview of the project and therefore monitor its progress. Furthermore, the cards can be filtered by attributing different colors to the various labels so as to facilitate the search system.
The workgroup experience within Trello can be improved thanks to some specific features called Power Ups. This tool gives us maximum freedom in deciding how to organize and customize the bulletin board.
The platform provides users with a Power Up market from which to choose tools that best suit your purposes and then add them to your bulletin boards.
Among the integrations available we find:
In addition, there are also extra features such as: Calendar, all cards to which an expiry has been assigned are displayed in a weekly or monthly calendar; Voting, allows members of the bulletin board to vote for a card; Card Aging, the integrated image takes on the appearance of an old photo when it has been inactive for too long.
Trello’s commercial offer includes three options with an increasing number of features.

12 July 2022 at 08:41Trello is a great tool for those who want to use the free version only that it is very limited in the number of tasks. It does its job of organizing work and teams, it’s a great tool but if I had to opt for the paid version I’d use another type of software like Monday or similar.
